As you are reading this book, you might have already come across this item. Combining an Apple and a Dark Gem results in a special Apple that when eaten inflicts large amounts of damage for a certain time. If the entity dies because of this effect, it will leave behind some kind of anomaly. I have yet to discover any uses for this phenomenon...
